-Get out on the ice.  Try skating in the Square (synthetic surface so sharp skates a good bet), the Bronte Creek ice rink, or the new rink at Heritage Waterfront Park.

- Enjoy a taste of Oakville (January 26-Feb 12), prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus at favourite restaurants to temp you out of your cozy nest.

-Drive to Mountsberg for Winter Days in the Country.  Sleigh rides, hot chocolate, marshmallows around a campfire, birds of prey – all the makings of a memorable outing.

-Stay warm and cultured at Monday Night at the Movies (access to the best of Canadian and international cinema at the Cineplex Odeon Winston Churchill).

- Upgrade your cooking skills.  Gather some friends and head to The Cooking Studio@Paradiso.  Winter/Spring 2015 schedule at paradisorestaurant.com

- Take a quick break from the cold and visit the Oakville Municipal Greenhouse and Conservatory (1100 Cornwall Rd) – tropical greenery and blooms to remind you that Spring will come.

-Learn more about Oakville’s Black History and the Underground Railroad by visiting the Oakville Museum (permanent exhibits at Erchless).

-Treat yourself to a taste of France; downtown Oakville’s wonderful Patisserie D’Or French Bakery and Café has relocated to Glen Abbey (1131 Nottinghill Gate).  Plenty of croissants and plenty of parking!

-Bounce.  Check out Aerosports Trampoline Park at 2679 Bristol Circle.  Serious fun (seriously).
